Golfers have been coming to the Chicago area's Cog Hill Golf & Country Club since 1927. Home to four regulation Cog Hill golf courses, the club was founded by Joe Jemsek. Among the amenities at the Cog Hill Golf Club are a clubhouse, a restaurant, a driving range and learning center, and a golf shop. In addition, Cog Hill houses a banquet center that can cater wedding receptions, meetings and other special events. The most famous of the Cog Hill golf courses is the nationally-ranked Cog Hill Golf Course #4, nicknamed Dubsdread. A par-72, 6940-yard course that opened in 1964, Dubsdread is considered one of the top golf courses in the U.S. It was originally designed by Joe Lee and Dick Wilson and redesigned by Rocky Roquemore in 1990. Although not as well-known as Dubsdread, the remaining three Cog Hill golf courses challenge golfers of varying abilities. Both the 6277-yard, par-72 Cog Hill Golf Course #1/ Blue Course and the 6384-yard, par-71 Cog Hill Golf Course #3/Red Course offer wooded, rolling layouts, while the 6362-yard, 71-par Course #2/Ravines Course at Cog Hill Golf Club features trees and ravines.
